Say hello to Belle! She is a Havanese doggy diva belonging to a wonderful family. When Belle’s mother contacted me to take her picture, I was informed that the 1.5 year old pup is very loved, very spoiled, and very much the center of the household… and indeed she is, and rightfully so. :) She is surrounded in these pictures by her identical twin bothers, John and Christian. Good luck telling them apart – inside their house are several portraits on their wall, and John and Christian can’t even identify themselves! :D The boys and Belle are super adorable, and I had a great time getting to know them. I send Belle’s mom this recommendation for her Halloween costume afterward as I think Belle would demand a costume that would highlight her assertive nature. ;)
It’d be much more accurate if I titled this post Raleigh Engagement Photographer: Taylor+Chris+Wynnie… mostly because it really is an engagement between the three of them. :) Taylor being a fabulous girl who works in a psychiatric office and used to be my sister-in-law’s roommate. Chris being a wonderful boy who does web-related work for the American Kennel Club. Wynnie being the sweetest (and softest) Golden Retriever on the face of the planet who has a general distrust of water fountains and whose hair gets a pristine 80s crimp when it gets wet. Taylor and Chris’s love for Wynnie is very evident. So when they became engaged, it was obvious we were to include Wynnie in the pictures.
Most of the time when dogs are included in engagement pictures, they are in about 10-30% of the shots, depending. This is usually due to the fact that it takes a much longer time to pose people with their dogs and get the dogs settled down and looking in the proper direction. Wynnie is in about 95% of their pictures. A lot of this has to do with the fact that she was just one dog as opposed to two or three, but most of it has to do with the fact that Wynnie is just so ridiculously sweet. She never barked, they never yelled at her, and she did whatever we wanted. Just a totally chill dog. A lot of this has to do with the fact that you could tell the three of them are just happy as can be. :) Wynnie is thrilled that her parents are tying the knot… and while this post is mainly to celebrate the engagement of Taylor+Chris, it’s also about the adoption of Wynnie. :)
Photos taken at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) where Taylor used to go a lot as a child.
We’re photographing Taylor and Chris’s wedding on October 23rd – our one year wedding anniversary. :) What a great way to celebrate it!
Rebecca and Grant! These two are just lovely and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. They are truly southern in both location and heart and make you feel like you’ve been friends with them for years. I love clients like that. :) Rebecca’s been busy planning for their wedding next September at the Shady Wagon Farm (which I’m so excited to shoot at!) and wanted their engagement pictures to go along with the rustic, farmy-feel of their wedding. There was no better place for them to choose than Grant’s grandfather’s farm in Wendell! What a beautiful space and what a super nice grandfather! He even gave Geoff and I seeds for this flowering vine that he has growing in his yard that we were admiring. :) He said they last for a long time, so we plan on planting them in our yard when we buy a house next year. :D So Rebecca, Grant, Geoff, and I ran around and shot on this awesome farm in the evening one super hot day a few weeks ago… and some really cute furballs even joined us at the end. ;)
Rebecca is going to make a stunning bride, and Grant one good-looking groom. :)
Meet the pups! Nelli is our sweetheart on the left, and Ava is our sweetheart on the right. :) Two super adorable and nice doggies. They had a good time running around in the fields. We aren’t entirely sure what was planted in the fields… but we had a good time nonetheless. ;)
Can’t wait for your wedding, guys!! :D We had such a great time – September 2012 will be here before you know it! ;)
