Next year our clean-shaven wedding clients are heavily outnumbered by our bearded ones, and within those bearded ones we have two very super ginger-bearded grooms. Dana, this week’s ginger-bearded groom, even realized that he had a ginger-bearded counterpart from our blog before we discussed it at their consult. Someday I’ll have them meet and their worlds will explode, but we’ll photograph their weddings before that happens first… just in case. We are also inundated with Carolines and Carolyns this year! And by “inundated” I really mean “we’ve had 3 people with the name Carolyn or Caroline,” but it’s still very impressive since we haven’t had any in the past. And we could not be happier that this particular ginger-bearded groom and this particular Caroline are also part of our team. We love them a lot, and they are very, very good at karate and wearing disguises. Very, very good.
Caroline and Brian came into Raleigh all the way from Charlotte to have their engagement portraits taken, and we are lucky to have had the opportunity to meet them! Finally, Carolyn was able to unite with someone who loves school supplies as much as she does, despite no longer being in school and despite not longer being a teacher. :D They also shared our love of 80s movies and reminisced about past job horror stories. On top of all this, we were pleased to find out that only one half of Caroline and Brian enjoy the Goonies and the Princess Bride, much like only one half of Carolyn and Geoff. We wish they lived closer so 50% of us could try to convince the other 50% that the movies are good (or bad, depending on what side you’re on).
These guys met in Raleigh, went on their first date to Gravy and the Raleigh Times (both of which we visited during the session), and have since moved to Charlotte. They’re getting married in Wilmington next spring as a middle ground of their families’ and their own locations. Brian likes golf and refused Carolyn’s suggestion that they go mini-golfing for their engagement session, and Caroline wouldn’t let him bring his golf clubs into downtown. Caroline was both her high school mascot and their prom queen, and also cries at emotional stories about children throwing out the first pitch on ESPN. They’ve both solidly convinced us that the West Wing is probably a good show to start after we run through House of Cards. We had a great time with these two, and we are so happy they came out to Raleigh to see us! Here’s a few of our favorites.
Meaghan and TJ just moved up from Charleston where there wasn’t too much seasonal change, so they were pretty excited to do their engagement pictures in Raleigh in the fall with the leaves and the prettiness and so on. And the leaves were looking GREAT!! And then Sandy came through and blew a bunch of them away. :) But no fear! There were still some left in this forest! So we grabbed their props and walked down the lane and took pictures with the trees. We also, bizarrely enough, stumbled upon some sort of army training exercise where a bunch of guys in camo with artillery were sneaking around the woods that surrounded us. We really wanted them to pop up a few feet away in the background of the pictures, but alas, it was not to be. So we made our own fun by talking about silly stuff and being generally goofy and them being obviously cute and we found the NC State horses who were pretty photogenic but not as much as Meaghan and TJ. :)
