We had all been trying to make this engagement session happen for so long that when it finally came with a 70% chance of rain, we decided to do it anyway because our e-mail chain about it could only get so long.
Susan and Michael are a joy. They brought a chess set made of marble. They brought masks. They brought headbands and eccentric hats and umbrellas and a kite to fly if it stopped raining (it didn’t). I don’t think either one of them complained once while being heavily rained upon, walking through a bit of wet ground (and the occasional thorn) and being asked to stop and pose. Plus, Susan’s hair managed to stay amazing despite the precipitation and doing it in the car in the drive down to Raleigh from DC. Truly impressive. They like their dog, traveling, time period related things, Dr. Who, and have a love of U2 that rivals myself and my sister’s. We like them a whole lot and cannot wait to see them again in May when we photograph their wedding at the always amazing NCMA.
