Amanda and David will have been together for 10 years in December and decided to hang out with us in some parking lots and alleyways and get bit by a whole bunch of mosquitos to celebrate! During this celebration we mostly tortured Amanda with spinning and twirling and tickling but I’m sure she’s stronger for it now. These two met while they were both in high school forever ago and then they went to NC State where they graduated and both got jobs doing teacher-esque things helping kiddos and helping people help kiddos. They have two cats named Genevieve and Gillian because they believe that animals should have human names. David likes working on cars and educated me about how to feel safe while driving a Miata around tractor trailers. Amanda likes barre classes and pop music. Together, they enjoy grilling and a fine gin (is the term “fine gin” a thing?). They also like traveling and are planning a trip to Puerto Rico that we’re jealous of (Carolyn is easily portable inside a suitcase and no one ever has to know). We are so glad that they spent their anniversary with us so we could photograph these fineeee, fine people and their love.
It’s always the people who warn us repeatedly how awkward they’re going to be in front of the camera who are always the least awkward people in front of the camera. Elizabeth and Catherine are two pretty amazing people who are not at all awkward in front of the camera even though they insist that they are. They met playing rugby, and who now enjoy T-Rexes (is that the appropriate plural of T-Rex?) and narwhals and brewing their own beer. They listed off different types of beer they enjoy brewing and they all sounded complicated and involved, but also tasty (I don’t know what coffee oatmeal porter is but I like oatmeal). And considering that they’re going a hops plant in their garden, I think it’s safe to say that it’s serious past time. And you know what they say! Those who homebrew together stay together. If that’s not what they say, it really doesn’t matter, because Elizabeth and Catherine are getting married so now I’m making it a legit saying. This land that they’re on in this shoot has been in Elizabeth’s family since the 40s, and is full of gorgeous fields and also probably snakes but we didn’t see any of those (yay!). Elizabeth and Catherine are fantastic and hilarious people, and we’re super excited to have them as our wedding clients in December!
two posts in one day! go go go!
meet wendy!
wendy is a raleigh model who is way great and way fun and way cute and we had a terrific time shooting. we went to shelley lake because i had this field in mind…this awesome, awesome field. i knew it was a long way to walk, but i was sure i knew exactly where it was. and after walking for about 15-20 minutes, we were all like, “okay, screw the field. we have no idea where it is.” ::sigh:: someday i will go back and find the field. but we made due without the field and got some stellar shots. thanks for putting up with us, wendy! :D
favvvvorrritttteee. poor wendy’s retinas suffered for this picture, but she pulled through, and i think it was worth it. :)
