We have been photographing Kim, Ginny, and their dog Levi since 2014 and they are so special to us! They live in DC, but they either come down to us, or we go up to them depending on who is in town for what various other things. This time we had a wedding in DC so we hung out with them near one of their favorite walking trails. And this time the adorable fluff of a dog named Levi brought his new brother Finn with him! Both Levi and Finn are Coton de Tulears and that translates directly to “A Ball of the Cutest Fluff You’ve Ever Seen.”
Levi is a mature gentlemen of 12 who has triumphed over a heart condition and now continues to live comfortably following everyone around. But! His energy has surged since Finn was adopted, and now they both act like puppies, frolicking and following everyone around together. Finn is a tad more unpredictable than good old reliable Levi, but not in a bad way, just in a little, easily distracted puppy sort of way. However, he is still 98% just a ball of fluff with eyes, so he’s quite easy to wrangle. But, I’m not entirely certain he’s real. Half of the pictures I took look like someone made the cutest stuffed dog in the world designed for optimal sales to small children and just sat it in front of me. He is almost unbelievably cute.
We’re so happy this family of four continues to see us (we LOVE seeing them!) and we’re glad Finn hit the family jackpot! Love you guys!
It’s been 2.5 years since Christie+Noel got married and they decided to do some anniversary photos! We think anniversary photos are great because they’re all about documenting you without the pressure of OMG A WEDDING or OMG MY MAKEUP or OMG SAVE THE DATES and generally everyone is significantly more chill. Pretty sure Christie and Noel would’ve been chill anyway, but no one is anywhere near as chill as Matlock. Matlock is their adopted lab-mix dog. He’s huge (possibly mixed with some Great Dane? Mastiff? Godzilla Dog?)His bark sounds like he’s the size of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I’m pretty sure I could ride him around like a small horse and my feet would only have a 50/50 shot of touching the ground. When you actually meet him, though, he is the sweetest dog in the worrrrld and you can tell, if he had opposable thumbs and could also negotiate on your behalf, that he’d do anything for you. Matlock enjoys belly rubs, being incredibly clingy to his parents, and hiding his tennis ball underneath the house where you cannot take it from him, ever ever.
Christie and Noel enjoy Matlock and each other and good television and traveling. Together we ran around and talked to some ducks and got Christie repeatedly tangled in her plaid blanket/scarf that I proceeded to wear the entire time they weren’t using it because it was cold. All of the leaves in the Raleigh/Durham area should have been gone by this point in the year (this shoot was on November 20th), but due to the extreme drought we’ve been having, they hung on for this session, which is probably one of our most colorful leafy sessions to date. We had the best time getting to know these guys and their large furchild. Happy anniversary to two beautiful people!
“Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!”
Ladies and gentlemen readers of the CSP blog, I present to you a mix of the most hot-mess of a dysfunctional family (pet) portraits I’ve ever done and the cutest pictures ever. It’s a strange combo, I know, but then again – so are Fluffhead and Mukluk. I won’t spend a long time explaining, but long story short, our one and only Alaskan Kate moved a few months ago and acquired a most wonderful roommate named Lindsay. Alaskan Kate moved with her cat Mukluk (my adopted nephew-cat), and Fluffhead is Lindsay’s dog. Little did they know that not only would Kate and Lindsay get along infamously well, but so would their pets. Now the most inseparable odd couple is the cutest pair of furballs on the blog and probably in the world.
So happy birthday, Lindsay! I hope these make you smile! I want to steal your dog, but it’s probably easier just to come over and visit. So without further ado – FLUFF+MUK:
Before I met Fluff, I wasn’t sure where I stood on tiny furry white dogs with tiny little barks. Now I am obsessed. Look at that face.
Little Muk wanted to pose with Kate’s drawing cat. This was the extend of Mukluk’s posing. He is his own cat and does his own thing. He likes you, but sometimes he couldn’t really care less. He’s kinda The Dude of cats.
Mukluk’s face is one of priceless irritability here. I love you, Muk.
1st picture: Fight!
2nd picture: Fight!
3rd picture: What? We are totally innocent.
I love you, Fluff and Muk!
