camping was awesome! more to come on that later. however, being in the woods for 2.5 days can get really old really fast as you get continually rained on, swat hornets away from your fire-burnt food, and run up an incredible sleep debt due to all the shuffling noises outside your small overheated tent at night. we had a great time, but boy… i’m glad to be back in the world of showers, internet access, and microwaves. i’ll be posting pictures from our journey later this week.

here’s some photos from my session with travis and jennifer – a really adorable couple who were great to work with. they let me put them in all sorts of perilous jungle-gym situations while being gawked at by a bunch of 5-10 year olds manning the playground. you guys are awesome! :)

in personal news, i am currently in the midst of planning my fall weddings and portraits. :) i’ll get to more of that next week. still waiting on the trash the dress session permit from american tobacco – hopefully that will arrive shortly so we can get to that and squeeze it in. geoff and i are picking up camping gear from his cousin’s tonight for our weekend excursion into the wilderness which starts tomorrow. when i return i will be posting session photos from this week and later camping photos. no professional photography is allowed in north carolina state parks without a permit that i currently don’t have… so i’m assuming i should leave my really obvious giant photography equipment that draws lots of attention at home. it’s mostly my lighting gear, but every time i’ve used it in the past week or two i have been stopped by some person of authority or media. and i don’t need my gear being confiscated in a state park a few hours from home. :) i’ll still be taking pictures… just compromisingly lit ones. :)

for now, here’s a thursday throwback: child portrait edition.

we’ve booked ourselves a camp site in hanging rock for the weekend! we’re leaving friday afternoon. getting some more editing done today so it will be a quick and easy blog on friday and no blog on saturday. i haven’t been camping in a while, but the weather should be beautiful and i’m hoping to get some good pictures. last time i went to hanging rock i didn’t have a wide angle, so that will be incredibly useful for the waterfalls n’at! we’re also hitting up a waterpark on the way home… because what good is a 7 year anniversary without a waterpark?

and now kevin, nichole, & connor continued… the extended version. :)
