Kaela and Isiah joined us all the way from Atlanta to have pictures taken back in their hometown of Chapel Hill, NC. Archie, their adorable fluff ball dog, also joined us, and was a stunning model (for treats). We roamed around UNC and Chapel Hill High School and discussed how awesome Reading Rainbow was. Kaela’s 1 minute of fame is currently that she had a book suggestion featured on Reading Rainbow as a child, but she unfortunately can’t remember which book it was. Nonetheless, we are happy to have this very vague six-degrees-of-separation moment with LeVar Burton. Isiah didn’t have a book featured on Reading Rainbow, but he owns a lot of really stylish shoes. Together and separately, they’ve traveled a ton and been to a bunch of different countries. They’re pondering where their honeymoon might be, but I suggest that if they open a book, they can go anywhere. Fly twice has high as a butterfly, even.
Our last engagement session of 2016 went off without a hitch (or with a hitch? since they’re getting married?) at UNC with Alex and Jacob. They’ve been together since they were in high school, but then went on a bit of a long-distance college adventure when he went to school in California and she went to UNC. Now he lives in New Orleans (of which we’re infinitely and desperately jealous), and Alex is working in Chapel Hill, but they’ll be joined together again finally after their wedding next year. Maybe.
And by “maybe” I mean “if Jacob can convince Alex to finally watch Star Wars to which she has previously agreed but has thus far not honored.” They have a cat named Neville and like Game of Thrones and, like the rest of us, aren’t sure whether they like or dislike Jaime Lannister. They were super nice to work with and were okay standing stuffed into some breed of Japanese Maple for like five minutes. And now we have to go because we stuffed ourselves into Jacob’s luggage so we can go back to New Orleans.
