Molly and Trevor live in Durham and spend their time decorating their fantastic apartment with a variety of metal and ceramic baby arms, reading books about where to put your NASA logo sticker on your NASA issued van, people watching everyone in American Tobacco from their windows, and generally being just a little bit cooler than the rest of us. Trevor has an Irish accent. Molly has cool glasses. And their animals are all named after historical figures they refer to as “The Furst Ladies.” Molly sent me the following email when I asked for their descriptions:
Eleanor Roosevelt is the yellow dog. Her ears are shaped like Doritos when she’s happy and soggy old nachos when she is sad. The staff at doggy daycare say she “has a lot of… personality.”
Martha Washington is black with paws that look like cookies and cream ice cream. As the reincarnation of a drunk old lady, she limits her day to sleeping, complaining about being hungry, telling kids to get off her lawn, and making uncomfortably direct eye contact as she invades family members’ personal space.
Abigail Adams is the cat. Her fur looks like a melted peanut butter cup. She lives in a cupboard and is not pleased.
We did spot Abigail Adams before we left. She came out of the cupboard (where there is a hung a delightful embroidered cat portrait in her honor) tentatively for treats, and also to visit with Geoff, whom she loved. But don’t worry about Abigail. Geoff and I have already invited ourselves to move in with Molly and Trevor, so Abigail will gain two new cat brothers to her cabinet. Gotta get started on our embroidered cat portraits.
