These guys remind me so much of my own family that I inherently loved them from the very beginning and continue to love them as I’m posting these. This is a sibling trio consisting of Lauren, Randy, and Jill. For their parents Kevin and Dee’s birthdays, they bought them a photo session when they were in town from Connecticut to visit. The photo session also centers around Cyndee, Randy’s spunky and independent 4 year old daughter who is fearless, skilled at climbing just about everything, and totally uninterested in taking pictures with any member of her family. All 6 of these family members are hilarious. They have great senses of humor, funny family traditions, and are fierce board game competitors (FIERCE). I genuinely felt like I was with my own family (especially when Randy went to get something out of the car, so the remaining family members moved all of his board game pieces in the game of Trouble back to the start position while safely moving all their own pieces into home). Actually, they’re fierce competitors in general… and a great example of that would be that they raced each other, and Cyndee lost her shoe, BUT KEPT GOING. Let me remind you that she’s 4. She did not blink, but kept running with one entirely bare foot over the finish line. Also, the entire family only let Cyndee win that one shoeless time, then they decided that was enough and started pushing each other out of the way. I adore them.
Everyone who reads my blog is probably well versed in my favorite dentist at this point, but if you aren’t, you should know that her name is Jodi and that she is the best. And by the best, I mean hilarious and wonderful and fabulous. There’s not a single time that I see her that I’m not laughing because she’s truly one of the funniest people I know. Plus she keeps my teeth clean so that I look good laughing too. A BONUS. Anyway, I love this woman, and I also love her husband, John, and their kiddos, Jack and Nicky. Jack and Nicky are good kids. Good kids like, REALLY GOOD KIDS. I don’t remember being this well behaved at their age. And maybe it’s because I’m mildly a stranger, but they do everything I ask. There are no eye rolls or attitudes or rude voices. They’re just like, “okay!” and do it. I think they take direction better than almost every wedding party I’ve directed. They’re into heavily into Star Wars and hockey and I respect that. They’re all also into their adorable sweet dog Maci, who came with us to this shoot and spent most of the time running around. Never far away, but not too close either. I love, love, love this family and everything about them. THANKS, FAVORITE DENTIST.
Guys! Tyler has now gone from a baby to a toddler. How does that happen? Science, I guess, and time. And now that he’s older, he’s starting to show some preferences and affinities that I hope he carries with him through the rest of his life. Namely: his love of cats and his overuse of sprinkles while making cookies. When I say cats, I mean their two pet cats Bongo and Max who stare at us from the top step and then run, and also his orange stuffed cat named Tom who does not leave Tyler’s side. And when I say overuse of sprinkles, I mean that 99% of that cookie is comprised of sprinkles, and I’m really not sure how you’d eat it, but I support it.
Tyler also likes painting his parents, running through bubbles, and looking aggravated while sitting on top of a gnome stool. He also likes making Super Target stores out of sand in his sand box (he is going to be such a catch). We are told that he wants to be a “big fat morning dove” when he grows up, and he enjoys riding his tricycle, identifying dogs on walks, and feeding ducks when they are at the pond. Laurin and Tim enjoy really wonderful art, really wonderful wallpaper, Game of Thrones, and keeping up with Tyler. The best part of taking photos of repeat clients is seeing how they got a large print made of Tyler looking aggravated while sitting on top of a gnome stool. We absolutely adore this family.
