When Geoff found out that I had an engagement shoot at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, he got out of work early to come with me. Not because I needed him, but because he wanted to run around the stadium. That’s pretty much how I felt too when I booked this. :) I had been in the talks with Caitlin for a while about possible locations, but when she mentioned that they both really like minor league baseball and thought it’d be a cool idea to do the portraits at the Durham Bulls stadium, I was really excited! Not only is it awesome because it’s some place different and it’s themed (themed engagements sessions are great!), but it’s awesome because they don’t let a lot of people do it. :) However, our wonderful Caitlin knew some people that knew some people… and viola! We were granted access to run around the stadium. Unfortunately Wooly Bull was not present, but upon mentioning to another client that we shot there the day before, I found out that a future groom of CSP used to BE Wooly Bull for two years! How cool is that! Small world. :)
Anyway, we had an awesome time with these two! We hadn’t met before – our wedding consultation was via phone as the couple currently resides in Virginia – and it was so nice to put faces to names. Not only are they both intelligent, nice people, but they’re also both gigglers… and gigglers always end up with great pictures. So if it looks like Caitlin’s about to burst into laughter during her “serious face” poses, it’s because she is. ;)
Their married last name begins with a P… so we found the P row. :)
They used the below photo of the scoreboard for their Save the Date cards because yes, the stadium put their wedding date up on the board! We felt pretty cool. :)
