I love shooting for Discover Durham because they’re all about bringing people into the city, celebrating fun events, and supporting local business. They are phenomenal advocates for all things Durham! Annnd if you get married in the Bull City, did you know that Discover Durham offers extremely cool courtesy services (read: totally free!) to you? They’ll make custom wedding signs and maps, help you get quotes on your behalf for venues and lodging, secure guest blocks in hotels, make itinerary sheets for your guests, and more! They do all of this because they love Durham, and weddings are a great chance to introduce more people to our city (learn more about Discover Durham’s courtesy wedding services here). My assignment for them this go around was to photograph the Southern Noir Weddings Bridal Experience in order to showcase the great wedding shows that Durham brings into town, and I was happy to do it! This particular expo is the the show of my vendor friend Elana Walker, who is a great wedding planner in the area, and I was happy to reunite with her and work for Discover Durham (and to photograph my first runway fashion show which was SO much fun!).
More mini headshot sessions this summer! So glad I started offering these, as I get a chance to meet all sorts of great people. This week’s wonderful subject is Amy (and her fantastic green romper!), who has worked as a real estate agent with RE/MAX for many years. She worked with them initially in Ohio, and now she works for them down here, as she has recently relocated with her husband to be near their kids in North Carolina. We had a great time updating her agent headshots, comparing the weather between the northeast and southeast, and discussing how we love this area’s amount of owls. Thanks for letting me update your photos, Amy!
