The last time I met Ralfi he was an itty bitty baby and now he is somehow 5 (?!) and he and his parents are somehow just as adorable as they were half a decade ago. Although now everyone knows way more about EDM than they did back then. And if you meet Ralfi, he will 100% tell you about EDM and also maybe even drop the beat on his Casio keyboard for you. Ralfi also enjoys breakdancing, but not on slippery carpets on hardwood floors. A sturdy surface is required – safety first – and I respect it. He is a high-energy wonder kid who loves Legos and coloring and I am extremely jealous of his race car bed. He is a Lego Master Builder who makes awesome stuff without any instructions. He has [coincidentally and accidentally] made a near-identical replica of the Waterworld set even though he hasn’t seen a Kevin Costner movie yet. We had a great time pretending that the floor was made of lava, and a less great time having a Redi Whip fight that went sideways when the Redi Whip can malfunctioned, causing Ralfi to be defenseless against the adults (he’s since made a full recovery). It’s always a joy to see Sarah and Chris and so it was an extra joy to see the great kid that Ralfi is now!

This was my first time meeting and photographing Jordan, Blair, and Jameson, and it was such a delight! Jameson just turned one and he’s a total camera ham who loves to giggle and hang out with Bandit, his puggle with the best underbite. He’s also into feeding his parents Cheerios and attacking them with lightsabers, crawling up the stairs quickly and without permission the second the baby gate is opened, wrestling with Chewbacca, and splashing around his water table and the neighborhood pool. He was so fun to photograph and he was a total champ on this hot summer day! In between shots of Jameson, Blair also fed Bandit chunks of watermelon, which was very adorable to watch. I’ve never seen a dog be so excited about watermelon, or even eat watermelon at all. He was into it. When not eating watermelon or following his family around, Bandit likes to hang out underneath Jameson’s high chair and wait for additional scraps of food to accidentally make their way down to him. This family is so sweet and we had a great time talking gardens and Star Wars between photographs. So happy I got to be a part of their photo history.

This session was so much fun. I’ve been waiting to meet sweet Maya for a while now and she did not disappoint in her adorableness. This baby is so cute. SO CUTE. One of her favorite things is intentionally falling down on her parents’ bed repeatedly, and also looking at herself in the mirror while sitting in the dog’s bed. She is just fantastic and so are her moms, who I missed so much and was so glad to reunite with! We read books and swung in hammocks and ate bananas and gave cheese to pups and rode in wagons while singing songs about riding in wagons. It was a truly hot day, so we made two brief ventures outside before we all said “nah” and stayed indoors instead. Maya kept us all smiling and laughing despite the heat and our sadness of how Succession is over. I’m so glad I got to photograph this beautiful family in their gorgeous home at this stage in their lives! Plus I learned a new song about wagons.
