Amanda and David will have been together for 10 years in December and decided to hang out with us in some parking lots and alleyways and get bit by a whole bunch of mosquitos to celebrate! During this celebration we mostly tortured Amanda with spinning and twirling and tickling but I’m sure she’s stronger for it now. These two met while they were both in high school forever ago and then they went to NC State where they graduated and both got jobs doing teacher-esque things helping kiddos and helping people help kiddos. They have two cats named Genevieve and Gillian because they believe that animals should have human names. David likes working on cars and educated me about how to feel safe while driving a Miata around tractor trailers. Amanda likes barre classes and pop music. Together, they enjoy grilling and a fine gin (is the term “fine gin” a thing?). They also like traveling and are planning a trip to Puerto Rico that we’re jealous of (Carolyn is easily portable inside a suitcase and no one ever has to know). We are so glad that they spent their anniversary with us so we could photograph these fineeee, fine people and their love.

Lindsay and Austin are just wonderful and let us drag them all over the place on a very humid, buggy night and made them climb on rocks and move pieces of old boats for us. They were super good looking while doing all of that, too. And A+ attitudes for also sitting on rocks and putting feet in the water and swatting away hordes of gnats and climbing up and down sandy embankments in formalwear. They were really, really happy to do all of this, and maybe it’s just because they’re positive, happy people, or maybe it’s because they were just married on Sunday, July 23rd and are madly in love, or maybe it’s both. Either way, we enjoyed working with them immensely. Although they did answer that It is their favorite movie and I totally forgot to make a “They all float down here” reference despite being surrounded by water and a place that Pennywise could totally, definitely live. A little disappointed in myself.
These two met through a mutual friend who became Austin’s roommate. And this friend is actually the husband of a lovely lady named Meg (Hi, Meg!) that we’ve met because she’s attended the weddings of a couple of our clients and made me delicious gluten-free cupcakes at the one. Lindsay also knows other past client-friends of mine and it’s all very much a small world here at CSP and we do love it. Together, Lindsay and Austin have made Durham their home despite Linsday having once lived in a mud hut in Africa and Austin having once lived in South Dakota. They enjoy their furry companion friends, hiking, and disliking Little Finger on Game of Thrones. We are so happy we got to meet them and document their faces forever and ever.
Margaret and Bryan are two pretty awesome people who live in Winston-Salem happily playing video games and discussing pugs. They met online when they were living in San Diego, and then they moved to New York. All of these places had bubble tea. Now they live in North Carolina and are struggling to find bubble tea, but we’re confident that someday they will (maybe? I don’t know, I’m not even sure what bubble tea is). They enjoy all types of video games, but together like playing Overcooked. When we asked them what it was about, Margaret responded with, “You’re a bunch of adorable characters working in a restaurant to fill orders really fast, but the restaurant is also haunted.” And that pretty much sums it up. During their engagement session they showed us the joys of Overcooked, and then took us around Winston-Salem where there are so many good murals omggg the muralllsssss. Team CSP is a big #1 fan of wall murals, and Winston-Salem seems to be the capital of them, and I was so distracted and overjoyed that it was surprising to all of us that I got anything actually accomplished during this session. We look forward to photographing their wedding in the spring… and if one of their wedding guests is reading this, maybe a good wedding gift would be the gift of bubble tea.
