Kaela and Isiah joined us all the way from Atlanta to have pictures taken back in their hometown of Chapel Hill, NC. Archie, their adorable fluff ball dog, also joined us, and was a stunning model (for treats). We roamed around UNC and Chapel Hill High School and discussed how awesome Reading Rainbow was. Kaela’s 1 minute of fame is currently that she had a book suggestion featured on Reading Rainbow as a child, but she unfortunately can’t remember which book it was. Nonetheless, we are happy to have this very vague six-degrees-of-separation moment with LeVar Burton. Isiah didn’t have a book featured on Reading Rainbow, but he owns a lot of really stylish shoes. Together and separately, they’ve traveled a ton and been to a bunch of different countries. They’re pondering where their honeymoon might be, but I suggest that if they open a book, they can go anywhere. Fly twice has high as a butterfly, even.

Happy birthday, Jon! This session was Jon’s birthday present from Jamie, and we hope we delivered. :) Jon is super into photos, and he found us a couple years ago when looking for a wedding photographer, but unfortunately we were already booked for their date. So they hung around and continued to follow us and we were super happy when they returned to us this year for his bday photos! They looove pictures and we love pictures and we also love people who love taking pictures. They also love and are very discerning about ice cream, which is important. We, too, consider ourselves ice cream connoisseurs, so we were thrilled when they introduced us to Treat in downtown Raleigh (in City Market facing S. Blount) and even more thrilled when they had chocolate peanut butter ice cream (because yessss). We had a super seriously fun (and tasty) time photographing these guys and wish them both a wonderful, slightly early happy 2nd wedding anniversary!
Molly and Zach are engaged! And they wanted to document that engagement! And they decided on NC State’s campus and we agreed and then forced them to shoot in what we loving refer to as “The Spray Paint Tunnel” because it’s fun and colorful. But sometimes it’s a little bit obscene. This time, after a thorough scanning of the recent graffiti, we deemed it safe for photos, and happily found a picture of a tentative-looking panda bear next to a light bulb where we set up camp. I then went about gawking at Molly’s dress which she sewed herself and which was pretty high on the DIY sewing skill level (pockets! darts!). I sew too, but my stuff only vaguely resembles clothing whereas Molly’s actually, you know, fit her… which is important. When she’s not sewing, she enjoys hanging out with Zach at the NCMA where they occasionally can be seen dressing up as Maude and The Dude at The Big Lebowski art museum party. They also have dogs and a love of food and beer and Raleigh, which they will fondly miss as they relocate to Maryland. Look at that panda!
