When I was little, there was no better summer day that one that was spent in the water and ended in pizza. It was fun to relieve those times with Taylor and Emily and their kids a few weekends ago. Lots of water guns, a kid who unfortunately knows full well how to work the most extreme setting of the garden hose, and a mom not afraid to dump the entire bucket of water on said kid. Oh, and cute dogs. All culminating in eating pizza cut with scissors in diapers at the dining room table. Good vibes all around on a summer evening. Happy to be there to capture it for them.
This post is entitled “Lexi + Morgan” but really it’s “Lexi + Morgan + DUCKIE.” Duckie, all caps, because Duckie is a mood. One of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met, Duckie is obsessed with Lexi and Morgan and likes to insert herself into every casual scenario. She especially loves to think of herself as a lap cat instead of the (70? 80? 90?) pound dog that she is (sorry, Duckie, I’m not good at guessing dog weights). She loves to hang out with her humans and they love to hang out with her. She also, if you haven’t noticed, has the best dog name ever. Duckie’s humans, Lexi and Morgan, are equally as great and I’m SO glad that I got to work with them! They’re engaged to be married and it was such an honor to capture this little snapshot in time for them. They love reading together, making coffee, morning walks with Duckie, and are passionate bike riders. They have an incredible book collection, arranged by color, and also the best coffee table I’ve ever seen. I’m so happy for them on their journey together and I’m equally as happy that none of us got poison ivy on this shoot despite a couple close calls (thanks plant identification app!).
